Wall Brown
The Wall Brown butterfly is a rare and declining species, hanging on in a handful of coastal locations in Hampshire, and highly unusual away from the coast. One damaged individual, with a missing left hindwing, turned up in the green ride between Alderhill and Sloden Inclosures in July 2018, probably blown in on strong southerly winds. The nearest regular location for this species is Calshot Spit, on the Solent.
