Marbled White

The Marbled White is a butterfly of wildflower meadows, and so is an infrequent visitor to Latchmore, where this habitat does not exist.  Two individuals were seen in July 2019, during a time when the species was abundant in nearby suitable habitat; both were on the wing and may have been blown into the area by south westerly winds, from the farm paddocks at the edge of the open Forest.
