Common Blue
Despite the name, in Latchmore this is not at all a common butterfly, as the vast majority of blues are Silver-studded Blue. This species thrives in longer grassland, with less acid soils. As it is active at the same time as the Silver-studded Blue, there may be some mis-identification between the two, particularly later in the season, when individuals are worn, but possible Common Blues are usually photographed to distinguish the pattern of spots, and the lack of a wide black border to the upper wing.
