Orange-tip

This springtime white butterfly is more at home in wildflower meadows than either the open heath, or woodland, so is a scarce visitor to Latchmore.  It was first seen in 2017, then again in 2019, both times in periods of warm, sunny Spring weather, when Orange-tip were found in good numbers in the grazed fields which border the valley to the West.  After three years with no sightings, a single individual was seen in May, 2022.
